We ran across Spiritual Intuitive Joan Campbell about a year ago. We were searching for people who were familiar with the nature of the "spiritual realms" for reasons that I
now forget; but Joan was one of the few people who took the time to graciously answer our inquiries. So we did something we never do any more, we signed up for her mailing
list and kept in occasional contact. Joan took the time also to go over our websites and made very kind comments to us about them. Back in March I got a bug: let me
interview some of these people! The first interview was with Dori Hartley; we are now proud to present my interview with Joan Campbell, Spiritual Intuitive. You can find her

1. Have you had your abilities since childhood? And if you did, did they cause you any problems as you grew up?
I don’t remember having any intuitive abilities when I was young. What I do remember is that I kept thinking I don’t fit in anywhere. There was something wrong with me.
I even made up stories about being adopted, left on the doorstep as a baby. The story was to make me feel like that was the reason I didn’t feel loved, accepted or feel
like I belonged even in my family. I was in my 50’s and searching in many directions for many years, reading many books attending many workshops till I finally opened up.
I believe it was in 2003 when I started doing readings. (strongly pushed by my guides to do it) Books helped keep me alive most of my life.
2. Could you please say something about your guides - who they are and what their nature is?
I know my soul energy is a part of it. If I’m doing a reading for others their soul energy comes in also. The guidance that comes in seems to be pretty wide spread.
If the energy of Jesus needs to come in I see him like the pictures I grew up with in church. This has happened when the person was to work with the Christ energy.
Mother Mary the same. Her energy has come in when certain people were told they were to write the new information on what being a Mother really is instead of the
old paradigm. The guides only identify themselves that way if the person is to work with that specific energy. I’ll see groups of what are called wise men or sometimes
sages and they will identify themselves as such. If the angelic realm energy is needed it comes in many different forms as a light energy, dark energy, angelic male,
peace, warrior, rainbow color energies etc. Sometimes the blue energy state comes in (not a planet) I see pictures, feel emotions
3. How do you perceive your guides - visually, audibly, by sensation and intuition?
It depends on what is needed. I will see images sometimes still life and others motion pictures, hear voices, and feel the emotions depending on what is needed at the time.
Sometimes all together. At times it feels like I am actually there when describing something.
4. What kind of music do you love?
Rock and roll of course cause that was my growing up music(all the 50’s and 60’s music, and Sinatra, Tony Bennett and that era, Streisand, Barry Manilow, and the last
three years I’ve become a big fan of country music. I don’t like loud music or harsh music.
5. In media appearances have you ever been stuck on the air with a total skeptic? (If so, are there any stories here?)
I’ve only had two media experiences one that was on bbs radio. It wasn’t really someone being skeptic it was more they didn’t understand. I really couldn’t believe that my
guides had me work with someone on the air that was far out compared to those I’ve done for others. It was a person who was from the angelic energy who had agreed as
part of his path to be a vehicle for other angelic energies who wanted to incarnate at this time to come into his body to test drive being in a physical body. Now to you or me
that isn’t such a strange thing, for some people just starting out on their path it could really freak them out. He was having trouble dealing with it and I had him call me later
and went through it with him and I think he was ok with it.
6. Our experience shows that there are two groups of people who remain antagonistic to those - such as yourself - who
are leading a spiritual life: those belonging to fundamentalist religious groups and materialist skeptics. Would you
care to comment about this?
Up until a few years ago I was upset about what they were teaching or believing and then realized that everything serves a purpose. We all need to experience different things
to reconnect with who we are. We all have free will and can chose. I don’t know the plan for myself let alone anyone else. So I have become more accepting. Of course I still
fall back into judging when I see some of the things going on in government and then I get reminded to stay out of the drama. I have been taught to meld with the energies
instead of fighting against anything.
7. Do you encounter people with serious rage or depression problems? Do you ever work with such people?
I do have people with rage and depression and the whole spectrum of emotions come to me. My guides work with anyone.
8. Do you use a tarot deck in your work, and if so, which one do you favor?
No I don’t use tarot. I was never drawn to tarot or astrology. I have had readings in the past from others and feel it certainly is useful for many. Apparently it was not part of my path.
9. How would you encourage someone to develop their spiritual gifts? If it fell to you, how would you teach them?
Self examination. Being willing to take responsibility for all your experiences instead of playing a victim or bully. The way my guides work with me to teach others is to teach
them how to heal their wounds and build their own energy from natural resources within them and the universal and planet energies. Be aware you can make choices in any
situation. Teach people how to be self-empowered. My workshop Personal Energy Mgmt 101 shows people the way to identify there personal energy system and how to change
what does not serve them. In all my workshops my guides come in to identify when a person is in denial and not getting it.
10. Do you find that your abilities are more accepted in American culture today than when you first began?
Yes. Just looking at the shows on television now it would have been impossible to for them to be on the air other than Sci Fi back in 1997 when I started just doing Reiki
people would shut down and walk away from me. Now there is a whole alternative health care focus going on. I’m also a hypnotist and now people are talking about it in a whole
new light. When I was actually practicing Hypnosis I had physcotherapist referring people to me. I still do get the occasional “Oh you’re a witch” and the back off.
11. How has the Internet changed your life?
It has helped me to feel connected with people that are more like me than most of the people I’ve known all my life. I don’t feel crazy or a misfit. It also provides me with things
that I didn’t know about before. There is an amazing wealth of information and resources and different, different people. It has also given me the opportunity to walk through fear
and learning things I would never have tried before.
12. Do you paint or draw, or write music?
No no no, I’ve always enjoyed coloring books and painting ceramics. I still color with my grandkids. My grandkids make fun of the butterflies and dogs that I’ve tried to draw for them.
13. Magic word question: dancing (Tell us what you think of when you hear the word)
