A Scientific Basis for Human Telepathic Communication

In the following presentation I will be making reference to the Institute of HeartMath, Dr. J.B. Rhine of Duke University and to the work of Professor Rupert Sheldrake.  It should be understood at the outset that neither HeartMath, Dr. Rhine and his associates, nor Professor Sheldrake endorse or support the our findings, nor are they in any way involved with or a part of the Outlands Community USA.

We have been giving what we call the "Learn Telepathy Quickly" exercise to people for roughly 2 1/2 years now.  This is something which the Community offers free of charge to anyone who wishes to participate, and in that time we have given it over 100 times.  About four months ago, the computer which we had been using since 2006 died suddenly when the lithium battery which powers it went below a critical level; this killed the hard drive and the CPU. In the process it took with it many of our records of people who have taken the exercise.  While this in itself is unfortunate, we have since run quite a number of exercises with people from all over the world and we do, in fact, have the records of these either as .rtf files or stored as conversations in Gmail Chat.

Since our mortal steward posted a video on YouTube about taking the Learn Telepathy Quickly exercise, we have received roughly 250 inquiries and/or requests to so do.  Of these inquiries, some sixty people have found to their surprise that they do indeed have an inherent telepathic ability.  To facilitate the exercise, people who ask about it are invited to have a "Chat" on Instant Messenger (IM) with Roy; we use Windows Messenger and the Chat which is part and parcel of having a Gmail account.   We do not at this time use the IM marketted by Yahoo! or AOL's AIM Triton.  When a conversation is begun with the aim of someone doing the exercise, Roy will ask the person between eight and fifteen questions about things going on in his home at that time.  These are questions which are impossible to know by any ordinary means.  The person taking the exercise is asked to relax and to think of it as a child's game and not some final examination.  They are also asked to respond with the very first thing which comes into their mind, as this is very likely the correct answer.  According to well-established research by J. B. Rhine of Duke University a person can only get correct answers to such questions by way of guessing or coincidence, 25% of the time.  In the 2 1/2 years of giving the exercise, our lowest scorer came in at 34% correct, while our highest scorer got 93%  of the questions answered correctly.  While skeptics may find a way to wiggle around the 34% score there is no way to get away from the 93% score.  The odds of getting even 50% correct is something like one in one octillion.

We began the Learn Telepathy Quickly exercise when we were having a conversation on the origins of human speech.  I make here the claim that I am the spirit of a long-dead human being who was alive before human beings used vocal speech and I happened to comment that people communicated by way of a kind of telepathy of emotions long before they began speaking or writing.  Roy said that if this was a normal part of human biology that the ability should still be present in living human beings, and I agreed that it was so.  Millenia of cultural influences have buried this ability in favor of speech and of writing.  This is especially so in the West, where the Church sustematically suppressed such abilities during the reign of the Holy Office, otherwise known as the Inquisition.  With the coming of the Enlightenment in the 1700s there was a window of opportunity to bring this hidden ability to the fore once again, but the internal conflicts inherent within the Enlightenment caused it to stay buried; science embraced a hyper-rationalistic materialism which relegated such things as telepathy to the shadows.  While this paradigm has been extremely useful in sorting out the basic chemical and to some extent physical processes which occur in the universe, it by no means envelops either the universe itself under its aegis, nor the things which can be legitimately known.  An example of the limitations of this "classical scientism" failing to explain everything may be seen in  the history of physics since roughly 1898.  Today, quantum physics postulates that things can exist as either particles or waves; that they technically do not exist unless observed; and that any observer or their observing equipment affects what is being observed.

One sticking point about how telepathy might work is that the human brain emits a very weak electrical signal, and skeptics have rightly pointed out that IF there is telepathy occuring, the brain is not capable of doing it, and therefore a method of how it might happen becomes the onus upon those making claim for telepathic occurance.  We today are presenting our working model of just how telepathy occurs.  Extensive research carried out by the Institute of Heartmath and peer-reviewed has shown that the mass of nervous tissue surrounding the human heart is connected directly to the forebrain; and that the heart is capable of generating an electrical signal on the order of at least 2.5 watts.  This is as strong a signal as can be found at many small radio stations throughout the world.

A reasonable objection to this portion of our hypothesis may be voiced because some of the people who partcipated in the exercise live between 9000 and 12,000 miles from where we are located in Clifton NJ USA, and a radio signal of 2.5 watts, whether generated by a radio transmission oscillator or a human heart, is not capable of clear transmission over such distances.  While we ought to properly refer to current theories which state that there is an interconnectivity between all things in the universe - such as that promulgated by the late physicist David Bohm - we feel that we have in our own instance found that the Internet is the medium by which such telepathic communication occurs.  It has the beauty of being a parsimonius explanation: the person "sending" a "message" sends it literally over the Internet in real time.  While this does not explain the thousands of instances where telepathic contact has occured over such distances without the Internet (such as has been meticulously recorded by Professor Rupert Sheldrake of Cambridge University UK), our feeling is that between Bohm's model (which he called "Implicate Order") and our own, there is, simply put, telepathic communication occuring.

I would like to conclude by inviting everyone interested in taking the Learn Telepathy Quickly exercise to contact us with a request at:

and I would like to thank the numerous people both within the Outlands Community and without who have taken the exercise for their time, their good humor and feedback these last 2 1/2 years.

11 23 08 To a new level

We have by this date gotten some pretty spectacular results in the Learn Telepathy Quickly exercise.  A few days ago a young man scored 93% correct when he took the exercise with me; 93% is unbelievable.  So Llam has asked me to round up volunteers from within the Community - Members and Associates - to try a new, more scientific version of the exercise.  It would work like this: One volunteer writes down six phrases of three to five words each for each of the other volunteers.  When possible I will engage each of the other volunteers in a chat and try to get the messages sent to them.  Needless to say that if I get some of them it will have pushed the Telepathy Experiment to a new level!

TE post #2 03 08 07

We are pleased with results from the Telepathy Experiment as it has been conducted so far.  We have established definite links with Shinobi, Dori Hartley, Alex/EonApocalypse, Nadya Lyzhnikova and SonShon 0.  We have proved that such means of communication is quite within the realm of possibilities.  Although still not standardized or predictable we have had enough incidental contact with the above-named members to be able to say this.  This has moved beyond coincidence or synchronism.  A typical example is the number of times we have logged into the Outlands Home IM at the same time as Shinobi and Eon to find them appearing moments later, often with the intent of chatting Roy or Sara.

The Telepathy Experiment, entry #1

September 23, 2006

We wanted to establish this page as an ongoing record of what we call the Telepathy Experiment.  For about three months now we have been having a lot of fun making telepathic contact with various people within and without the Community.  We are far beyond the old-fashioned and rather superstitious materialist / reductionist view that telepathy is impossible; we've already demonstrated that it works and works quite well.  We mean to keep it simple, to make it reproducible and easily taught.

Telepathy is one of many so-called "paranormal" abilities which you can learn for yourself.  We are finding that we are getting some remote viewing done during our attempts at telepathic communication; this is incidental to the contact, or so it seems.  If you are concerned that we're spying on you, it's not happening.  We can't see you in your underwear, sitting on the bowl or in bed with someone.

Our working parameters are as follows:  Anmals are plainly telepathic.  If you have a dog, cat, rabbit, horse or any animal with which you have daily contact, you will probably have noticed that they always know when you have come home from somewhere.  It occured to us a while ago:  the way in which you perceive your own thoughts is a form of telepathy as well.  Something in your head is 'saying' something' and another part is 'listening.' If it works in your head it'll work outside of it as well.  Telepathic abilities are natural to human beings, it is just that in Western culture we have been brainwashed into thinking that it is something evil (many religious views) or just impossible (the older materialist pseudoscientific view).  Clear away the clutter and you are good to go!

The Telepathy Experiment is part of a larger ongoing project called AetherSpace.  It was proposed by  our angelic steward Llam and is along these lines:  human beings are the only entities in the universe who do not communicate telepathically as a normal, day-to-day practice.  True, there has always been a small minority that can exercise this natural ability.  Included in the AetherSpace Project are plans for learning psychokinesis (the ability to move things by thought; sometimes called "PK" for short), for getting a grasp on perceiving the past and the future, for learning the ins and outs of channeling and out-of-body (OOB) techniques.

We have found in our initial three months of playing with the Telepathy Experiment that while we have had some pretty funny failures and flops, it is the successes which really count, and we have had successes.  Think of the history of the telephone.  At first you had to shout to be heard, what was heard was often filled with noise and the words garbled, wires came down and switchboards often short-circuited.  But the telephone's parent, Bell, just kept working to improve the quality of service.  Today you probably have a cell pnone on your person and with it you can make calls, take pictures and access the Internet.  So it is with us;  we will keep trying variations of the experiment, looking closely at where things do go wrong,  improving that which works and finding methods to get around obstacles to communication
